Hadley is Two Months!

Hadley, you are two months old and growing so fast! Here is what you are up to these days:
*You weigh 11 lbs 7 1/2 ounces and are 22 3/4 inches long!
*You are holding your head up REALLY well. Dr. Otero was very impressed this morning actually. And when you are on your tummy you are close to rolling over!
*You hate the car and let us know almost every time we are in there!
*You LOVE your big sister. She loves to make you smile and give you kisses.
*You are sleeping about 7-9 hours at night which mommy is SO excited about. Thank you!!!
*During the day you eat about every 2 1/2-3 1/2 hours.
*You will only nap in your swing but you love your bassinet at night.
*We have you in cloth diapers most of the time but when you do wear disposable you are Size 1.
*Your 0-3 month clothes fit you perfectly right now but I have a feeling you'll be in 3-6 months clothes before you get to three months old!
*We just took you out of the sling in the bathtub and now you get so excited kicking in the water. Water goes everywhere and your sister thinks it is so funny, mommy too!
*You are an absolute joy to your daddy and me. We are having so much fun with you and cannot believe you are 2 months old already! We love you Hadley Mei!!

Kevin Yen-Chen Lin...

...is celebrating his 28th birthday today! He is such an amazing husband, father, chiropractor, friend. I am so thankful for the life God has given him and the man he is. I want to brag a bit...

When I was single and heard people say their spouse is their other half I thought that was nice of them to say but really? What does that mean? Well I now know. Kevin is my other half. He knows how and when to calm me down, he knows what to say to me when I am down on myself, he is great at making me laugh, he is caring, patient, funny. I miss him when he is at work. He is such an amazing daddy to our girls. Ayda absolutely adores him. I see it in her eyes that he hung the moon. Daddy can make her giggle pretty much by doing anything. She has always thought he was funny. I know Hadley will be the same. He is so gentle and sweet with them. He knows how to keep us girls under control!!!

He is passionate about his practice and his patients. He goes to work everyday and puts everything into his business. It's been neat to watch him grow and his practice the past year.

I'm so blessed to be married to such an amazing man. So to celebrate his birthday today has been nothing but fun and exciting. He deserves to know how very special he is!

Happy Birthday Kevin! I love you!

Mother's Day Weekend

I had a wonderful Mother's Day to say the least. My mom came into town Thursday which we always love having her! Saturday we headed to Cocoa Beach for the day. We shopped at the Ron Jon store, ate lunch at our favorite place, and played at the beach. The weather was perfect and we had lots of fun!

Grand-Pam (or at our house she is Be-be, thanks to Ayda) with Hadley!

Me with my sweet girl! Being a mom is the best thing I have ever done. It challenges me everyday to be a better person but there are so many rewarding moments.
Ayda and Kevin played in the water the entire time. She LOVES the beach!!

On Sunday Kevin took us to Bella Collina (nice golf resort in town) for Mother's Day brunch. The food was absolutely wonderful. Mom and I kissed our diets good bye for the meal and enjoyed every bite. Kevin did a great job treating us to a wonderful morning. We came home and crashed for a few hours. Then Kevin and I got to go to a movie and my mom kept the girls (her idea!). It was great being out with him for a few hours...first time since Hadley was born!

And yes, Kevin is already wrapped around another little girl's finger!!

Easter

It was fun celebrating Easter as a family of 4 this year. I loved getting to dress up two little girls in pretty dresses. Ayda loved the Easter egg hunt at church on Saturday and was definitely excited about the candy that she got. We also learned that a child who rarely gets processed sugar becomes out of control when she gets too much. Kevin and I were completely worn out by her by the end of Saturday!

Sunday we headed to church as a family. I missed the sermon because Hadley got hungry. That's ok, it was nice to be there anyway! Then we headed to Cracker Barrel for a yummy brunch. After naps some friends came over and we enjoyed a very yummy dinner that Kevin cooked! I love when he cooks. All in all it was a wonderful day celebrating Christ's resurrection and remembering the gift that is to us!

My sweet girls looked beautiful!

Going through her easter basket

We did a little easter egg hunt in our front yard. Ayda and Easton had lots of fun having another easter egg hunt!

Tommy is Back!!

Hadley is 1 month old today! I cannot believe a month has already passed. I also can't believe I am getting to do Tommy the Monkey pics again! So exciting! So many people say they think Hadley looks like Ayda...I sometimes see it but most of the time I don't. So I included a pic of Ayda at 1 month with Tommy as well. You tell me!
Happy 1 month baby girl!! I'll post her stats after our Peds appt on Wednesday!

The Girls...

Kevin and I were pretty sure we were having a boy. Especially when I broke out with PUPPs (which by the way is gone as of this week!!!) we were really convinced. So when little Hadley came out very much a girl we were both surprised! But I can't imagine life any other way. Several people asked me if I had any preference. And honestly I really didn't. I would have loved having a boy. However, I know what to do with girls now and I wanted a sister for Ayda pretty bad. I grew up with an older brother (who I adore) but I always wondered what it would be like to have a sister too. I did get a glimpse of that by way of my younger half sister but we didn't get to grow up in the same house together. That relationship has actually been more like waving a cookie in front of my face and saying "nope can't have it" or "you can have a bit, but not the whole thing". So anyway, I wanted a sister for Ayda. And now that I have been able to watch them the past (almost) month I love what I see already. Ayda looks out for Hadley already. If I have Hadley in our room to nap, Ayda promptly says "mommy, baby out!" meaning bring the baby out here. If she is crying she wants to make her feel better. She loves helping me or Kevin give her a bath. And Hadley gets dozens of kisses from her big sister daily.
Another thing I have found I love about having two little girls is simply saying in conversation "the girls". I love how that sounds. It's simple I know but I just like it!
I do hope we have a boy (yes there is already talk of another Lin...but certainly not for awhile!!!)but for now I am loving having my girls!

Life with Two

Well I have been on my own for two days and one word comes to mind...surviving! It has not been too bad but there is definitely more chaos in the house...or at least in my head. I feel like there is constant motion here. Baby fussing, Ayda running to the potty, toys everywhere, lunches needing to be made, laundry piling up, and the list goes on. But there are those few times where the house is quiet, like right now. Ayda and Hadley are napping and I have time to take a deep breath and enjoy the silence. I must say Hadley is doing great at night which definitely gets me through the days. And Ayda is handling the adjustment of having a baby sister and not getting mommy's undivided attention anymore beautifully. I was actually worried about how I would feel not having all that time for Ayda. But it has been fine. Hadley has just fallen right in with us and I wouldn't change a thing. Going to the store is exhausting...going anywhere is exhausting but we'll get it soon. So all that to say life is crazy and I definitely look forward to 6:15 when I see Kevin come through the door, but it is wonderful having two little girls to spend my day with. They are precious!!! I'm so in love with my family of four to say the least!
