Father's Day

Wow I have been trying to blog about Father's day weekend for a few days now. Finally, I think I might get it posted! Unfortunately I don't have any pictures to add though. Oops!

We had a great weekend! Kevin, Ayda and I went to the mall Saturday morning and enjoyed walking around. It was so nice to not really have an agenda. Ayda was in a great mood and didn't seem to mind that her nap time had come and gone! Then Saturday night the three of us went to dinner. Kevin's brother offered to keep Ayda Saturday night so Kevin and I could go see Toy Story 3. So we came home after dinner, got her bathed and ready for bed, and headed back out to see the movie. The movie was fabulous! Kevin also got to open his presents a day early!

Sunday was a typical "Sunday Shuffle" as I refer to every sunday. We went to church and then kevin headed home with Ayda for naps and hanging out at home. I stayed at church and volunteered in the nursery, then ran a couple errands, and taught my Bradley class. After class we all went out to eat (kevin met up with us with Ayda) to celebrate finishing the series! I can't believe another series is complete!!

So all in all I think Kevin had a good weekend. I definitely LOVED the family time we had together. Kevin is an amazing daddy and I wanted nothing more than to make sure he knew that. He is patient, understanding, encouraging, fun, affectionate, and so much more! I love watching him and Ayda interact and I can't wait to continue watching their relationship grow deeper. He is in love with his little girl and it is so obvious!

Thanks Kevin for being such an outstanding husband and dad. You have forever changed my life and I love watching you with our sweet girl. You do so much for our family and I proud to stand next to you and do this life together! Happy Fathers day!!!

Swim Lessons

Ayda started swim lessons this week and we are having so much fun! She loves the water so I figured she would do great. There has been some crying with different parts of the lesson but overall she is doing awesome. She has to go under water during the lesson a few times which she is not usually thrilled about. We have one more week (next week) of lessons and then we just keep practicing what she learned. I mainly just wanted her to get more familiar with the water so if she were to fall in she would know what to do and not panic (I pray that NEVER happens though!!!).
Waiting patiently for class to start!

Right after her first time going all the way underwater. She doesn't look thrilled but I was thankful she didn't scream!

Learning to kick her feet and dig her hands

"Swimming" to the wall with my help. By the end of the lesson she should be able to get to the wall on her own.

And what better way to recover from a tough lesson?? Lounging on mommy and daddy's bed, eating corn on the cob...at 9:45AM!!!! Of course!

(more pics and possibly video to come of the final lesson)

Zoo Atlanta

Ayda and I spent a week in Atlanta last week and enjoyed visiting with friends and family. My friend Lauren and I wanted to take her niece and Ayda to the Zoo on her day off from work. My mom also took the day off from work and joined us! We had so much fun looking at all the animals. Ayda loved seeing so many!
Ayda and Peyton meeting for the first time! So cute!

Ayda saying hi to the gorilla! She thought it was so cool every time he moved! The little things!

Ayda loved playing with Peyton and making her laugh. She is so into babies right now so she thought Peyton was the greatest. She was so sweet with her!

I thought a quick pic with the Gorilla would be fun. And of course after mom took the pic we saw the sign that said do not climb on him. Oops...I mean we didn't exactly climb on him...we just took a quick picture. That is ok right?!?!

Memorial Day!

We had a nice Memorial Day. Kevin worked a half day and then we headed to the Jones' for a pool party with family and friends. It was relaxing and fun which we all needed. Ayda LOVES a pool so she did not hesitate to jump right in. I can't wait till her swim lessons in a couple weeks!
Water balloons!!! The boys knew exactly what they were...Ayda not so sure. She learned pretty quick though when she nibbled on one and it popped in her mouth. Oops!

Cicero! He was so hopeful to get a bite of cupcake or hamburger.

Swimming is hard work...whew!

More cupcake please!

Family picture...we have so few of these!

Me and the hubs...we have even fewer of these! haha!
